I was told it is a Colt M16 BCG but, I have had others tell me it's not. Can anyone confirm or know what it is? Thanks.

It is a Colt, but it's an AR-15 version, not M16

Lack of shrouded firing pin and lessend carrier mass. If the bolt was new or is still with original barrel, I'd just pickup an enhanced or FA carrier when I found a good deal.
