| I recently found a bunch of ammo another unit left behind and I can't identify one type. The writing on the rim is L2A2 RG XX. XX = last two digits of the year. The bullet it self looks a little longer than M855 and doesn't have a colored tip. Any ideas? |

The Brits don't paint the tips of their SS-109-type ammo, because they only load the one bullet weight. We do it because we're still making M193 (55 gr.) rounds (mostly for the Air Force, from what I understand). So it's Radway Green, NATO-spec, M855-equivalent ammo. There are also directives about whether GIs can use L2A2 in M16s and M4s... Check command if you plan to use this much.
