I searched and googled before I asked. I have the opportunity to purchase some ammo from an estate sale and would like to know more about it. The first is:

1. 5.56. These came in a cheap green pouch that has " 5.56mm,  Ball C77,  10 round clips, IVI86B02-02" stamped on the pouch. The ammo whas wrapped in cardboard and in the pouch. There were also loose 5.56 in stripper clips. I removed some of the clips to look at the head stamp. Some of the stamps were LC 76,LC 92, LC 73, LC 87, LC 84. The info on google lead me to the LC=Lake city. Do the numbers represent the year of manufacture? I am not aware of 5.56 using a corrosive primer, is this correct?

2.The next find is a brick of 7.62x39. The case is green laquered with a HP lead bullet. The stamp is "711 93". Made in Russia is stamped on each box. See the photo below for the other stamp. I have found that the 711 refers to the plant in russia. Again is the 93 represent manufactured in 1993? And how can i find out if it is corrosive?

3. The last is more 7.62x39 in stripper clips. It is in a brown casing with a FMJ lead. (shown in pic) The stamp reads "88 71". Any ideas??

Thanks for any help.

The "cheap pouch" is the standard issue military 5.56 bandolier. In this case it's from Canada, it originally contained some really fine ammo, IVI C-77 (62 grain with the SS109 projectile, pretty much the same as our M855)
The LC is "Lake City" with the year of manufacture. It is not corrosive.

The 7.62 on the stripper reminds me of some Chinese AP I had years ago, if it's all copper washed. Best bet is to look it up:

or

Most 7.62x39 military ammo is corrosive. The Chinese copper washed I had years ago was.
Hope this helps.

Are the 5.56mm FMJ or soft points? They look kinda like softpoints in the pic.
If they are SPs they are reloads.

They are soft points. Most of them are in a cardboard package in the green pack.

Judging from the fact that a) your .223 has soft points in LC brass, b) the headstamps vary, and c) from your picture it appears the brass has been polished, I'd say the .223 is reloaded.

I have some of that 7.62x39 "Made in Russia" stuff in the boxes, too. Couldn't tell you anything about though, cuz it's been forever since I bought.

Yeah, those SPs are reloads using processed military casings.  I would personally pull those down for the components.
Too bad it wasn't the C77 ammunition that originally came in that bando. That was some cool stuff!

The X39 in the cardboard box also came in an off-white colored 120 round battlepack that was not the easiest to open.  I have a few of the unopened battlepacks at home as well as some of the Russian hollow points and some soft point Russian X39 that almost looks like they just took a hollow point bullet and poured some lead in it as their is lead flashing on the side of the bullet that you can scrape off with your fingernail.  I bought mine back around '97 and it was everywhere you looked back then.

I just got 940 rounds of that stuff in trade... '99 headstamp I think.
