Sorry if this has been answered, but I can't find it and it is not on the eotech site anymore.
What is the model name of the older N cell eotechs? I'm thinking about selling mine but I don't know what to search for to check prices. If anyone knows the going rate it would be helpful as well |

511 and 551. The 510 series is non-NV capable. The 550 series will have a button marked "NV" to make the reticule NV compatible- when you push it, to the naked eye, it will look as if you've turned it off, but it will still be emitting enough radiation to see through a night vision device.
If it has the "standard" EOTech 65 MOA circle and 1 MOA center dot, it will be either the 511.A65 or 551.A65. If it's just the 1 MOA dot, it will be 511.D or 551.D. It should be marked with a "revision" or "REV" letter, "REV F" is the most current model. So if it's NV compatible, has the 65 MOA outer ring, and is the most recent variant, it would be the "EOTech 551.A65 REV F." Not 100% certain what the current market price is, but the "N" cell EOTechs were notorious for short battery life, and personally, with the AA and CR123 options available, I probably would not pay more the $200-$250 for a 511 or 551 used. Check Gunbroker, eBay, and the EE to get a better idea of what they're running for these days. ~Augee |

And yes, battery life is terrible, bad enough that I don't use it on anything more than a 22, because I kept finding it dead. I love the eotech reticle, but have gone 100% Aimpoint and ACOG. Even the newest Eotechs don't have enough battery life to win me over, I've fallen in love with the "set it and forget it" life of the aimpoint, and the close to 15 year life on tritium. |
