If this post is in the wrong place I apologize in advance. I have purchased a stripped Stag lower and installed a RRA lower parts kit into the lower. I used the build forum to make sure everything was done correctly but was unsure of the placement of 2 of the springs that were included in the parts kit. The picture was not clear enough to show which spring was the bolt catch and which one was for the disconnector. Can someone please help with this.

The disconnector spring has one end slightly larger than the other. The bigger end goes down into the recess in the trigger and holds the spring in.
The bolt catch spring is the same width the whole length.

Ok...thanks for the help on that. The next question is what is the purpose of the disconnector? When the hammer is back is it supposed to come in contact with the disconnector?

The disconnector will catch and hold the hammer back after the gun has fired, the bolt cycled, but the trigger is not released.

I am making sure everything is ok with the lower before I purchase. When I lock the hammer back with my hand the hammer does not come close to locking with the disconnector. Is it different when the whole thing is together and I am firing live rounds?

Yes the bottom of the carrier pushes the hammer down far enough for the disconnector to catch it if you are still holding the the trigger in the pulled position when the action cycles.
