I have a 16" HBAR that Im thinking of mounting a scope on. Id like to know what you guys have used and what you like. It will be used to punch paper at 100-200 yards. Ill also need to mount it to a carry handle, so what did you guys use in the form of mounts?

Pics would be nice, we all love gun porn

TA11, you'll love it.  Comes ready for the carry handle, when you get a flat top just buy an ARMS #19S and you're all set.

TA01 is cheap and widely available, no BAC though.

Professor, what's your budget?  That will have a significant impact on what you can get.

I was thinking up to $400 or so

The ACOG looks sweet, but I cannot justify a $800 optic on a $600 gun.

I got a Weaver Grand Slam 6x20 from SWFA, on their recommendation, last year.  It's as good as any VariX III I've looked at, and it's substantially cheaper.  SWFA has the model I got for about $330; if you need less magnification, the 3x10 is about $250.  Call the guys at SWFA and ask them about the Grand Slams.

I've got my Grand Slam on my .22-250...if it wasn't an absolute tack driver, I'd snatch it off and slap it on one of my ARs.  If I had the money to spare, I would absolutely buy a couple more of those scopes.
