I have a 14.5 inch barrel with a perm. pinned flash hider and a A2 FSB, it does not have a delta ring on it, just the barrel nut. I am looking for a 7 inch free float that I can use, I can't  remove the FSB of course.  So am I looking for a 2 piece free float that clamps on the barrel nut? If so can you guys recommend me a good rail system.

Will the DD Omega 7 work even if I don't have a Delta Ring?

Doesn't the DD Omega use the delta ring?

Yes. The above statements were incorrect.

You will need a two piece rail like a Troy or Midwest Industries. The Omega will not work if you don't have a delta ring.

Avoid Midwest Indistries.  They have had a run of out of spec rails and their CS is basically ignoring the problem.  Try YHM.

I agree with you on MI. I had one fail on me in a class. However the OP was asking about two piece rails that clamp onto the barrel nut. The MI drop in rail does that. The Troy is a better option by far.

I didn't realize that YHM made a two piece rail.

One of the design criteria of the Apex Handguard System was that it had to be able to install with a muzzle device in place, not a quad rail of course, but that's another discussion !
