| I got a stag arms upper in the summer and put 50 rounds though it. I did not clean or lube the upper after I got it nor did I clean/lube it after. I plan on shooting it this weekend. I know I can run a dirty upper but not dry. I am gonna lube it this week. Is it ok that I am not cleaning it before? I plan on putting 100 rounds though it this weekend. The gun should not be that dirty since I only have 50 rounds though it. Any insight will be useful. Thanks |

Good practice to clean after using, especially if your pride and joy is going to be stored for awhile. Best way to protect your investment IMO - AR's are far from cheap. That said - 50rds isn't that much, don't overthink this. Wet up your bolt (especially around gas rings / neck) and if you can - run oily patch through the barrel before shooting. Then clean it all up, inspect for wear (all the usual stuff) when you are done. Your rifle should be just fine. |
