Sorry if this is old news but I have been searching for hours reading through old posts and can't figure this out. So here I am turning to you guys for help.

I recently purchased a YHM 2 piece hand gaurd, and some products from Tango. Either the gaurd or the VFG are out of spec, I've had to force feed it on and have not been able to get it very far. I figured I would take it off and give it to the machine shop guys that I work with to see if they could "fix er up" for me, but now I can't even get it off.

HELP!

Thank you,

Spoons

I had the same problem with my YHM rails. My vert grip would not go on. The grip was an after market KAC type and I had no heartburn filing it to fit. YHM had some rails in the beginning that were tight but I understood this was taken care of a while back. The newer rails should be more in spec and compatible with most accessories.

If the guys you work with are competent machinists maybe they can open up your grip a bit.

A triangular file and a minute of work is all that is required.  Its much nicer to have it a bit too tight, than a bit too loose.

+1

Exactly how I fixed mine. It’s still plenty snug but is much easier to slip on.

Awesome! Now I just need to figure out how to get it off of there.

Thanks!

I carefully tapped mine at the base with a rubber mallet.

How is this thing supposed to mount, with the 4 machined and threaded holes out front, near the FSB?

There is only one direction that it can go on. The tapered end goes under the delta-ring.

There are also pins in the upper -rear section that lock into the barrel nut.
