OK here it is,  I am going to build my first ARs as soon as the ban goes away.  Price is a consideration but is not the only concern.  I want one lower, two uppers.  (one 5.56 and one 6.8)  Carbine length, used for fun, three-gun, and home defense.  Quality is important to me, as is the trigger and overall accuracy.  I would also really like to put a suppressor on it.  I may build a DCM gun later but this is just for fun.  What would you build and why.  Educate me.

Thanks in advance, Robert

Well, I'm not familear w/ the requirments for 3 gun...... so I suppose the lower should qualify for that.

Also, what is your budget?

The easiest suggestion for the uppers, is to buy complete, ready to install.  RRA uppers run about $425 for 16" A2.

Lowers (complete) from RRA are around $250 extra $120 for national match.  If you assemble.... lower $90, butt stock kit $55.00, lower parts kit $60.00, two stage trigger $90?..... total = 205-300 (w/ 2 stage).  Granted, some of those prices are on the high side.  The benefit, you don't get hit w/ the entire bill at once, you buy what you can afford at the time.

My suggestion, look at Eagle Firearms (they are a dealer w/ ads here).  They have good deals on RRA, Stag, etc.  I think they have a sale on their RRA stripped lowrs.  Look in the equipment exchange....  Buy your lower and parts now, before the ban ends.  You'll have it.  If the ban ends, order a pre ban upper.  If, by chance the slim balls sneak a back door, midnight attachment renewal (you can see I am in favor of it dieing) order a neutered (LOL) upper.
