Is there such a thing as negative magnification (if that term exists) sights?
i.e. an x0.75 tubeless red dot.

Thanks.

Easy, turn your scope around 180 degrees.

I can't think of any need or use for decreasing your view through an optic. Usually the least amount of magnification people want is 0 like a red dot sight.

Both eyes open is the way to use non-magnified optics, if you're looking for wider field of view, you can't beat human eyes that have almost 180 degrees of FOV.

Actually finding optics (camera) that have a wider focal field of view than the human eye is pretty easy.  The focal field of view on the human eye is only around 30 degrees.  Everything outside that is peripheral vision with very poor acuity but very sensitive to light and movement.  You then have to shift your focus to assess what you picked up on the periphery.

That said, there is nothing to be gained by increasing your focal FOV.  The optics will increase perceived distance and reduce acuity which kind of defeats the purpose of optics in the first place.

Right, I was talking about a wider FOV in the application of target identification and aiming

I can't find a way to comment or express myself on the idea that a negative magnification would be of some advantage without sounding like I am insulting the OP.

I would like to say, however, that with a 1x magnification (Aimpoint, Eotech, etc...) and both eyes open, you are getting the maximum possible field of view. If you are squinting or closing one eye, you are reducing your situational awareness. Don't fall into the trap of getting "sucked into" the tube like it is a scope. It is a 1x sight, not a scope.
