I picked up a new bolt carrier that has a "C" stamped on it.  But it doesn't look like my older Colt carriers, the "C" on it is very lightly stamped where as on my others the "C" is deeply stamped into the metal.  The seller didn't claim it was a Colt, I'm just trying to determine if it is.  Can anyone post a photo of the "C" stamp on a recently purchased known Colt carrier, or the carrier from a recently purchased Colt rifle, say purchased in the past 6 to 8 months?

Thanks

Bought this one last year from Autoweapons

Just checked the BCG on a new MT6700 I got a couple of months ago. Camera not working now, but the C is VERY lightly stamped. less so than the one in the pic

Close your eyes and imagine the most standard styled "C"....not to much to deviate on.

eta.....6-8 months......you could have one carrier come on the line at 8 am and then at 9 am have a deeper or shallower rollmarked "c" one come off.  You do understand that roll marks are pressure related...thus its always fractionally a bit diff based on the machinery.

Actually yes, I do know how roll marking works, it's just that my known Colt carriers are both from the 80's and the roll mark is really deeply impressed into the metal, I just didn't know if Colt was not stamping the new ones as deeply.  On the new carrier I picked up the "C" is so lightly impressed that the top curve of the "C" is partly missing, and I just wasn't sure if Colt was getting that sloppy with roll marking now.  In fact, if you don't look closely you would miss the "C" all together, it's so lightly stamped.  I would just post a photo of it, but it's so lightly stamped I couldn't get it to show up in a photo.

In the end, I guess it doesn't matter if it's a Colt or not, I'm just going to put it in an AR and fire the hell out of it either way.
