I'm looking to get my first AR rifle and was hoping that you guys could give me an advice on a decent entry gun.  Thanks in advance

You didn't say what configuration you were interested in. But my first AR was a Bushmaster A2 with a 20" barrel.  Also Rock River Arms is a good choice.  I'm sure you will have many different opinions on this.  Also Welcome to the site.  You came to the right place.

Welcome to the madness... [;)]

Purchasing your first AR, stick with the ABC+R manufacturers you won't go wrong... ArmaLite, Bushmaster, Colt, Rock River.

Check out the features and decide on the configuration that appeals to you... Some initial decisions regarding plans for optics will help you decide on an A2 or A3/A4 upper... Or just get an A3/A4 with a removable carry handle and have the best of all worlds...

I'm a traditionalist/iron sight guy so most of my ARs are A2 uppers, but an A2 will limit your choices if you are planning on optics... No matter what, you've found the best place on the 'Net to help you make your decision!

Olympic and DPMS are also not bad value for the money, mine have had zero failures in thousands of rounds. but stay away from vulcan arms.

I agree with Darkstar, get the M4 upper, (with feed ramps) detachable carry handle and picatinny rail gas block with folding or removable front site. It's more money up front, but way cheaper later on. All you are doing is starting out with the latest design features.

For an Entry Gun, like you specified above, I would go with the Rock River Entry Tactical.

Only thing I would do to the standard gun there is change out the "Tactical Carry Handle" for a regular A3 Carry Handle.  Or, you can leave both off and just get the plain flat-top upper.
