They say your optic should cost more than the rifle if you want a good one.

How does the live.com discount work?  I just sold an Eotech with the purpose of purchasing a TA31f.

I am a big fan of the ACOG. You'll love it. Nice carbine, BTW.

Hey Augee, nice A4! Looks like mine!

Does that really work for you mounted so far forward? I've found the 4x32 acogs have4 relatively short eye relief (but I love them just the same).

Not sure if you're talking to me or to the OP, but yes, works fine!

Then again, my eyes are both terrible and young.  Mounted too far back, the ACOG lens hits my glasses, but I've never had any problem with the ACOG forward mounted.  I find it the best position for me and my shooting style, I try to shoot NTCH when possible, and usually shoot CQB/reflexive fire with the stock fully collapsed.

I've heard others complain about the eye relief, but it's never posed much of a problem for me.

As far as being too far forward: I do like it back just a bit more but I just wanted to see how everything fit with the backup rear sight mounted also. I have to try it out at the range both ways.

is that fore-grip light the actual Surefire unit or one of the repro's?  If it's the latter then I'm curious as to how well it works.  Sweet glass btw.

It's a Surefire.
A freind of mine just bought a knockoff and it impressed me.
I'll find out what brand it was.

=D thanks to LIVE.com  i now own an ACOG TA31F

MY buddy has a TA31DOC its accurate. The only thing i hate is it only goes to 600yards but you have the DOC for cQB.

out of sheer, morbid curiosity, is your front sight / gas block a YHM, and if so, why is it backwards?

Apples and oranges.....

I really like my EoTechs, and my son has my older "N" battery model on his AR. I replaced my "AA" Eo w/ ACOG TA31F.... have never looked back and put my Eo on another build.

If I could afford them all my ARs would have ACOGs!!!
