After searching and posting about my next rifle,(I was considering either a KelTec SU16C or a Mini-14 RR), I decided to get another AR. I'm fortunate enough to already own 3, a Colt CNM HBAR, a Bushy M4 tricked out , and my favorite a DPMS AP4 .308 tricked out. This next rifle is for carrying in my vehicle and I want either another Bushy M4 leaving it stock, a RR tactical entry, or a DPMS AP4 in 5.56. My only concern is I need a chrome lined chamber and bore and I don't thnk either the DPMS or the RR has this? Also from want I've read online the Bushy M4 is about the closest thing to what our guys are carry overseas? I know my Bushy has gone through my own torture test of 800rds in 30 minutes of all kinds of ammo including dirty Wolf without one malfunction, CProducts mags of course. So unless you all have a better suggestion I'm leaniing towards another Bush Master.

Most Army issue weapons are still Colt.  It is more expensive, but in my opinion, the best AR15s are Colts.  I would have to double check, but I think RR does have chrome lined.

Yes I have a Colt and like it very much however it is no better than my Bushy and as the Civillian Colts are not MilSpec rifles and cost $300 to $400 more than a Bushy, RR, or DPMS I can not justify the extra cash for a rifle to be kept in a vehicle. The RR web page does not specify chrome lined bores but I will check again.

I thought that the only difference between the Military M4 and Colt civilian and LE was that they have the .170 hammer and trigger pins; everything else is mil-spec, well and the full auto part.

As for Bushmaster vs. Colt I have both, and I can say with complete confidence that the Bushmaster is not mil-spec, not that is a bad rifle cause it’s not, it’s just not mil-spec.

Colts are better quality then Bushmaster or RR.  Bushmaster and RR are both good, but not as good.

I have a LMT defender 2000 M4 14.5

I love this little carbine  and it is SO ACCURATE it acts like a MATCH BARREL

I like it better than my COLT and 2 bushmaster

MY Vote LMT M4

I REPLACED my A1 shorty bushmaster upper with a LMT M4 14.5 upper
Its my SPARE M4 I carry sometimes in the trunk

You could buy a Lower then buy a lmt upper

Am I completely wrong in thinking that civilians can't purchase complete LMTs? Maybe that is why you suggested the lower and the upper. I have only seen LMT lowers sold (to non LEO or active duty). Where can you buy LMT uppers?

check the ee.  lmts are all over the place.  LMT just will not sell complete rifles to civilians, they do sell complete lowers and complete uppers (although some dealers claim they have began selling complete, from the factory, LMT rifles).

Since you are looking at an M4 type rifle configuration, have you considered one of our SLR15 Operator's?

After taking my Bushy M4 A3 Patrolmans carbine out to the range again and blowing through another 500rds with no problems I decide not to mess with success and get another just like it. I will replace the trigger with a CM curved single stage like the one in my Bushy now, get the 4 rail FF hand guard, Ergo Grip, and butt pad for the stock so they look and handle indenticle. Like I said I have a Colt but they're too much and I challenge anyone with their Colt to put 800rds down range of Wolf, Pri Partizan, Gualti, and SA as fast as you can pull the trigger, i(t took me a little over 30 minutes), and not have your Colt choke, mine did, but the Bushy kept on going. My Colt doesn't like dirty cheap ammo and that's what I shoot most of the time when blasting to save money, I keep the 75gr TAP in all rifles for serious work. Colts are good but the quailty control at Bushmaster is outstanding too and no I don't work for them. If I won the lottery I'd get a Colt but the horsy doesn't make it better weapon. If I was to want another .308 it would be a DPMS just like my AP4 Carbine not a RR as they just got into the .308 field and my DPMS will go MOA with any good ammo and not choke for 600rds,(I never have shot it more than that at one time) but it has never had a failure. Not too found of their 5.56 carbines however. Can't wait to hear the gripes fire away!!
