I fired 200 rounds threw my new Armalite today. My first 3 mags were rough to say the least I had 4 FTF, 3 incidents were the next round was not picked up out of the mag. The Bolt stuck closed, twice. I was thinking I got a lemon. The next 4 mags ran without a malfunction.(even in rapid fire) I used all Factory ammo (UMC and Wolf)I had 3 Pmags,3 C product mags (all 30)and a C product 20 rounder. The only thing I noticed that the mags had in common was that on the 3 were the next round was not picked up, it was the pmags. I dont think it was the ammo or the mags. I did own a Colt Hbar that was new and never had a malfunction. Is this common with a new Ar ? Break in Period ? Should I be concerned ?

Just lube it a little and get it broken in. Dont worry.

Neither of my Armalite's like Wolf. Other than that, I've never had a problem with any of their stuff.

My buddy told me that I had too much oil on it.

Sounds like a break in issue, not to worry IMO. I have a Bushy  that needed a couple hundred rds to run smoothly. Like you, I own several Colts that ran smoothly off of the rack.

Sounds  like mags o ammo to me. I would try something other than PMags and Wolf.

Armalite uses the 1-piece McFarland gas ring. Try running mil-spec 3-piece setup. I bet your short-stroking goes away.

break in/use initial few hundred rnds w/ quality brass ammo
keep track of your mags to be sure that its not mag related
CLP is good--just enough to keep it lubed up, but not drowned in

Wolf is slightly underpowered a bit dirty however if your rifle chokes on this then it has bigger issues.

Becareful of the UMC ammo. There has been some problems with it and I believe that there was one post here of having a Kaboom.

I have some and noticed that not all shots sound the same. So far out of 200 rounds I have had several that did not sound right. I broke my ar down and looked down the barrel just to be sure. Once I finish up with the UMC ammo I will not buy any more of it.

I took out the 2 Sales uppers I bought a few weeks ago. GI 20's and my handloads, they did'nt miss a beat from round one. I hope they have another sale soon.
