I have been reading the AR15.com boards on and off for a while.  Recently I have been really fighting the urge to purchase an AR.  Today I quit fighting.  I bought a Bushmaster XM15-E2S Shorty.

If anyone can point me to a good source on info/technical information about the weapon I would appreciate it.  I am no stranger to the basic platform, having carried, shot and cleaned an M16 at Parris Island, then at USMC OCS.

I would like to know what the "H BAR" designation means.  It would appear that the aftermarket for AR's is full of stuff to customize/tweak the weapon.

Thx

[blue] Welcome to the board friend [wave] Congrats on the new AR [beer] Your going to love it, I have the same exact bushy and can't leave it alone.[:D] The Hbar designation stands for Heavy Barrel . Try the BushMaster web site for what ever Info your looking for. I'm not really sure what it is your looking for. Don't hesitate to ask more about it if you can't find it there. Good Luck and Welcome again.

Well..........here (of course), and [url]http://groups.msn.com/TheMarylandAR15ShootersSite/_homepage.msnw?pgmarket=en-us[/url]. These are the only 2 sites you need to visit to get any info on the AR there is to be found.

congrats on the new gun. i would pick up a basic ar15/m16 maintanance book, it should be the same that paris island should have given to you guys who were there. next just search the web, type in any ar15 name brand or accesory company that you can think of. also try to locate a retail store close to you that sales shotgun news. you can find them in the magazine section. here i buy mine from wal mart. the post 3 new issues a month and there is always a lot of ar stuff in there.
