Are you using a Killflash with your TA31? Anyone else using one with the TA31? I'm assuming that the Killflash for the TA01NSN will fit the TA31 - correct? |
| No, I am not using one. I have never tried one on an ACOG in fact. I have one for a Leupy scope on top of a bolt gun I have. It cuts a noticable amount of light using it on there. I presume putting one on an COG would do the same but dont know for sure. I think they are a handy item to have should you happen to have a need for one at some point, but in general I leave it off. |

I almost ordered one from MSTN. When they said they only sell about 2 a year, I decided to pass. One things for sure, my TA-31 front lens is very reflective. I was walking back from my target to the line one day and the glare nearly blinded me!!! I thought about getting one for a "rainy day" but I haven't become that paranoid yet. |

Quoted: Who is that on your avatar? It looks so familiar but I can't place her. To tell you the truth, I don't know. Some vampire of some sort. Thanks for all the replies. I am currently using a Killflash on my TA01NSN, but am attempting to sell it in order to upgrade to the TA31 (thanks, guys, for spending more of my money, btw [;D] ); since the TA31 uses daylight to illuminate the donut (during the day, of course), I am wondering if the Killflash would have more of a negative impact on the use of the TA31 over the TA01NSN. There is a noticeable change in light using the Killflash, but not detrimental IMHO. Evidently the military is onto the Killflash; they have NSN numbers - ? |

The TA-31 uses the fiber optic tube on top of the scope to gather ambient light so the illumination level of the dot will not be affected by a Killflash. When ambient light is insufficient, the tritium kicks in just like your TA-01NSN. |

I have one that came with my TA31F. I have noticed no ill affects with it and it eleminates the reflective glare from the front. These pictures were taken on different days, at different times of the year. There is no difference in light that I can tell.
