Hey everyone, I've been a long time lurker and this is my first post.

I used to have a Bushmaster Carbon-15 and I was not impressed with it.  I bought it without doing any research on EBRs and made a snap decision to pick the rifle up.  I was not pleased with it because it failed to feed on numerous occasions.  I sold that rifle off a few months ago and have been working on a middy build.

I just received my new BCM mid-length upper receiver in the mail today. The upper is great, however I was looking in the bore and about halfway down I see some sort of scratch or mark that goes across a part of the rifling.  I ran a patch and brush through the barrel and it was still there so I talked to BCM about it and they said that it would probably go away after shooting it a few times. What do you guys think of this?

Anyways these are the parts that I have put together so far:
-Spikes lower
-Stag arms LPK
-BCM Gen. 2 stock kit
-BCM mid-length upper
-Detachable carry handle

All that is left is BCG, charging handle, and hand guards. I can't wait to get it done and shoot it for the first time.

Just an imperfection in the chrome as is the case with the chroming process. It might smooth out but it shouldn't affect anything. I was take BCM's advice. They know what they're talking about, afterall.

Perhaps you were looking at the gas port hole?

I was gonna say that too. Does the mark happen to be near or under the FSB or gasblock?

it's ok your not the 1st. When you said it was halfway down that kinda gave it away. BTW you are gonna love that BCM upper. POst pics when its done. Cavalry Arms makes a good tapered midlength handguard if you go standard
