Hey everyone, I've been lurking for a while during my endless research into the platform and figured I'd drop in and introduce myself and talk about my build in progress!

I was never much into the AR scene until I helped a buddy build his 9mm carbine, and immediately felt the itch to build something of my own.

I'm going for a semi-budget franken gun over a period of time by shopping sales and such, here's what I have so far:
Anderson stripped lower
PSA QMS LPK
Damage Industries Buffer tube/Nut/Endplate
Used Stag Arms M4 stock/Buffer/Spring
Radical Firearms 16" Mid-length 1:7 5.56 SOCOM Barrel/Gas Block/Gas Tube
Radical Firearms Upper Build Kit
PSA Blemished Stripped upper

So far, I'm in it for $330 and just about finished.
I'll be sure to update when I'm done

Throw that girl together and get some pictures up. Sounds like a good deal all together.

Sounds like your well on you way. Are you going to free float or keep the front sight base on your barrel? If you float check out the alg or Utg pro tubes. Nice products and budget friendly.

The gas block that came with the barrel is low pro, so I'm on the lookout for a modular free float rail of some sort.  Not a fan of quad rails, but both the ALG and UTG looks promising.  Do you guys have any experience with either Mas Defense or the Nordic Components  handguards?

Not the ones you mentioned, but I've had 3 of the Utg pro, one super slim. And two keymods. Very nice fit and a well kept secret if you ask around. Exile machine has the 15 inch for $127

This one is the 13 on my 14.5 build.

It looks like you will have a nice rifle

In regards to a rail system/hand guard I would second ALG.  ALG is a sister company to Geissele and both make great products. I have held and played with ALG and I think their quality is just as good as Geissele's. I love my Geissele Mk8 rail.

Well here she is!
Snagged an AIM Nitride V2 BCG, a PSA charging handle, and a used ALG EMR V1 13" handguard.
Optic is a blemished Primary Arms 1-4x on their standard mount.  I should have splurged for the extended mount, but this works well enough for now.
Shot around 2 inches at 100yds yesterday with the 50gr American Eagle varmint tipped.  Can't wait to whip up some handloads with some heavier projectiles!

I promise I'll post better pics when I get a new phone

Looks great OP. How did you do on your budget? And how is the PA mount ?

Grand total for the rifle was $536, plus $90 for the blem scope and $25 for the mount.

As far as the mount, it works and seems sturdy enough, but a nose to charging handle hold is impossible, at least with this scope.
