A while back I decided I wanted anothe AR15, and the style was simple.  I wanted a no frills kiss rifle that is aimed at being relatively light weight with no sacrifices to overall durability of the components.  Naturally I thought of the Israeli style carbine, ala A1 upper/M4 barrel combination.

I already have a few lowers waiting around with parts kits installed, just needed a stock kit, and a new upper.

Since I was buying basically a new rifle, I figured I would take this as an opportunity to "redo" a rifle I built a while back.  I love her dearly, and some of you have already seen the pictures, but here she is again:

The components of the rifle are quite obvious, but the barrel is a Bushy M4 14.5 1/7, the upper and bolt group are CMT parts.  In terms of the quality, its a GREAT upper.  Its disturbingly accurate, and has NEVER failed since I put it together.  Great upper.  However, there were always some things that bothered me.  Obviously, bushy uses lower FSB's, and they don't come with M4 feed ramps.  The ramps I could have cared less about, but hey, on an M4 clone, you might as well go for the gold.  The FSB was the issue that bothered me the most.

So, instead of sourcing out a new barrel (afterall 14.5 1/7's arent the easist to track down, and most of them have M4 feed ramps, a no-no for a C7 upper) and C7 upper for my upcoming build, I figured with a few convenient parts swaps, I could get the chance to "correct" my M4, and build my KISS rifle.

So, I contacted Randall at AR15barrels, and ordered up an LMT 14.5 upper receiver, M16 bolt group, charging handle and CMT stock kit.

I contacted PK firearms and ordered up a C7 upper, Delta ring assembly, and a few parts.

The M4 pictured above will remain EXACTLY the same, but it will have all the LMT parts from Randall put on it.

My lower with the parts kit I mentioned above will be completed with the CMT Stock kit, C7 upper, the Bushy barrel/BCG/charging handle from the AR pictured above, a set of old car handguards and the delta ring assembly I bought as well.  I will be removing my Aimpoint ML2 from an M16A2 clone I built that utilizes the aimpoint brand gooseneck/QRP setup, so I will end up with an Israeli style AR15 with a pretty decent optics kit as well.  Best part is, this whole setup is going to be kryloned tan/medium brown when I get the chance to do it, and will become in a sense, my "beater" carbine that still has the modern advantages such as optics, but more classic lines.

I decided I didnt want to rip apart my new LMT upper to get the delta ring off, and figured it was worth the 11 dollars to buy a new delta pack from PK, and just dremel the bastard off the LMT.  Not that its a big deal, but the less I have to mess with it, the better.

I will post pictures of the M4 with its new LMT upper next to my build when I get the parts in and assembled after finals week...so I'm still about 1.5 weeks out.
