Once you take off your CH you have two options. You can purchase a riser to raise your EOTech up providing a lower 1/3rd co-witness, this will give you a clearer Field Of View. Or, you can mount it directly to the rifles upper receiver, and have what is called an absolute co-witness. An absolute co-witness puts your Back Up Iron Sights directly in the center of the EOTechs FOV. Check out this thread to get an idea of how some of the folks here are running their Back Up Iron Sights and optics. FOR THOSE NEW TO THE AR: HERE ARE SOME “OPTICS OPTIONS”. Now to sighting in the EOTech. EOTech recommends sighting in at 50m. Sighting in the EOTech is no different than sighting in a standard rifle scope. You will be making corrections to your windage and elevation to obtain your 50m zero. Hope this clears up some of your questions. |

You can mount the EOTech with a riser and seperate Back Up Iron Sight or a combination riser/BUIS. The choice is yours. This link will give you an idea on whats out there for risers. www.eaglefirearms.net/eotech.htm This is one way I had my EOTech mounted. No riser, mounted directly to the upper receiver with a cut carry handle (CCH) as a BUIS. ![]() In the link I posted above you can see different configurations. |
