Has anyone demo'd the new EOtech models with the buttons on the left side of the unit? They also have the 557 model with a fixed 4x magnifier for it. Has anyone seen this stuff yet?

Yea, just bought a Eotech 557 2 weeks ago.  So far I love it, but the zeroing in is a little difficult to get a hold of.  It has that BDC reticle that can make POA a little difficult.  I need a 3x or 4x magnifier for accurate longer distance shots.
