Couldn't have possibly made a better choice!

The LMT brotherhood welcomes you.

Mine came wth an Ergo grip tho!

I got a MIAD on there now.

So did mine but I put it on my Bushmaster. I like the G27 better. Thanks.

Congrats

No notch on the hammer now?

Which LMT upper are you going to use?

I have mine for a couple of years now with MIAD grip and CTR stock and 16" LMT upper, LMT M16 BCG, runs fine no problems.

I don't like them, rubber grips aren't comfortable to me and it was a little bit thin. I recommend a Magpul MIAD. I love mine.

I will probably go with the 16" M4 profile. I did not understand " No notch on the hammer now". Please forgive me but could you elaborate.

The M16 hammer on the left have no notch at the upper forward corner and the AR hammer on the right have a notch.

The only AR hammer that I know that doesn't have a notch is DPMS but there may be other brands also.

I went from A2 to Ergo.  Ergo had better reach with the extended tang but was even thinner than A2.  I upgraded from Ergo to G27.  More hand filling and same tang for good reach.  The finger grooves got in the way when I would transition to weak side quickly and the storage sucked (not water proof, pooor retention.. had things fall out cause the lockup sucked as its just friction based).  I upgraded from the G27 to the MIAD.  Now I dont end up with fingers on the grooves instead of between the grooves on weak side transitions and the storage is as good as you can ask for.  I run the plain front strap and the mid sized back strap.  The more aggressive texturing of the MIAD on the sides makes up for the loss of the finger grooves as far as control is concerned.  The MIAD is the best grip currently available IMO.

Looking good. I got my Defender 2000 in as well, came with an Ergo grip and M4 waffle style stock. I swapped it out for a Colt A2 grip and I'm in the process of removing the 5-pos. buffer tube with a 4-pos. Colt tube. The staking is solid, I can't get it off with a regular CAR wrench and hammer, will have to resort to something larger.

Man, I almost broke my spanner wrench trying to defeat the staking LMT put on my lower.  The wrench was actually flexing under the strain.  I eventually broke it lose though.

I will tell everbody a litte secert, when you oder a LMT lower from a dealer, like I did from Rainer Arms. I asked if I could tradeout theTango Down grip for a Magpul MIAD? He said he would for $15.00. I will tell you that is a deal. You can't buy a new MIAD Magpul aready installed for $15.00 and Rainer keeped the Tango Down grip. I will ask who ever I buy a LMT lower if they will trade again when I get the money saved up to buy my 3th. LMT lower.

The purpose of the notch is to prevent proper operation if used with M16 parts...Hope that helps...

PS - You might want to Blackout the serial # from your pic.

I bought an LMT 16" M4 upper and an LMT Lower with 6-pos collapsable and 2 stage trigger about a month ago. That same day I ordered an M16 BCG from them.

Its not supposed to be shipped until the 12th (June).

My first AR! I cant wait to shoot it.
