Here is what I plan on building, when pheasant season is over in January.

Viltor stripped upper
ADCO 16 inch dissipater barrel
Daniel Defense 11inch FF quad rail
LMT SOPMOD lower
Magpul furniture
LaRue iron dot sight
Daniel defense BUIS

The rifle will be finished in an OD gun coat.

What do you guys think, have I made good decisions?
This is my first build, and I want to get it right.

Sounds good but I would go with a folding rear site.
Probably a  TROY.

Sling, Light???

I already have a single point sling, and a surefire scout light.  I really do not want a folding rear sight, and the rifle will have a standard front sight post.  This is my second AR by the way, but I really wanted to build this one.  I have caught the BRD bad this time.

Then go with the LMT or Larue fixed sites.

Other than that sounds great.

What makes the LaRue fixed sights better than the D. Defense BUIS?

ñothing. The dd fixed sight is a nice rear sight. I think the lmt's are ugly but they do have elevation adjustment. The only advantage that the larue sight has is that it says "larue" on it and is QD. Something I'd rather not have on an iron sight.

Unconditional warranty, Larue's quick disconnect mount, Mark's attention to fit and finish is second to none.

I know it's almost twice the cost but you have not skimped on anything else on your build why do it on a precision part like a site.
