Components:

Bushmaster upper and lower
RRA NM trigger worked on by WOA
Bushmaster 16" flutedHBAR (prefect for the Recce concept IMO)
Carbine-length gas system
Midwest Industries gas block
YHM Phantom flash suppressor
Troy MRF-RX 13.5" free float rail system
M4 stock
CAA stock saddle (no cash for another SOPMOD at the moment)
ERGO pistol grip (fits my hand the best)
CAA VFG w/ battery storage (prefer it to the TD)
Some no-name bipod adapter
SureFire G2 w/ Z32 shock-isolated bezel
some tape switch I found in a drawer
Badger Ordnance Gen 2 tac latch
Buffer Tech single point sling plate
ASP single-point sling
YHM A1-style rear BUIS
PRI front BUIS
Trijicon ACOG TA31F

The story behind the ACOG is interesting.  I picked it up for $585 (!) used in the EE.  It came camoed, and my original intent was to immediately remove the paint, but once I got the thing put together I decided the camo goes pretty nicely with the build anyway, so I'm going to keep it as is.

Very cool.

Carbine? Midlength?

Who did the fluting, or did it come that way from the factory?

Thanks for pointing out the omission, I added gas info to the description.  It's a carbine-length gas system.

Fluting was factory done by Bushmaster.

Very nice rifle !!!
How do you like the CAA stock sadle compared to the SOPMOD..?  pretty sturdy, & does it pinch your face.?

Okay, help me out here:

What is the difference b/w a Recce, an MRP?

What components designate that a rifle style is either one?

An MRP is a specific type of monolithic upper with a proprietary barrel mounting system made by LMT. A recce is just military slang for a 16" barrelled carbine capable of precision fire.

Nice! It looks like it will be a shooter.
I had a Troy rail and I called them about making a sling stud that would screw into the side of the rail and they told me they were going to make one. I havnt seen it yet and sold the Troy but I would email them. They were really fast to respond and really nice to talk with. One of the guys even called me to discuss the idea.

Could you post a pic with the ACOG on the gun?

It's on there in those two pics.  Is there another shot you wanted of it?

The stock saddle gives you a huge bang for your buck.  The cheek weld is just as good as with the SOPMOD, and I have never experienced face-pinching.  I can see how it might happen on someone with a full beard though.  Obviously it doesn't seem quite as sturdy as a solid SOPMOD stock, but at the same time I've taken stock saddles through a couple of carbine courses with no problems whatsoever.

I can't see it, hold on... there's an outline of something on one of them.

Nope, I just saw the Predator... sorry, no ACOG.
Can't believe you fell for that.

Very nice setup there!

How about painting the ACOG the same green?

Nice Rifle man!

I would paint the ACOG a different color though. Looks like the Barf I was blowing out 3 weeks ago.

LOL... you two.  What are you brothers or something?

Phoebus, I know it's not an SDM-R... but you have a capable-looking shooter there.  Give us a range-report when you can.
