newbie here...
Heres the deal.... Its been along time coming but is finnaly time to upgrade my upper... currenlty have a bushmaster A3 upper, 14.5 in barrel with the fixed flash hider, (witch is the main reason for the upgrade), I would like to run a free floater, either a daniel defense or a larue.. I plan on building a complete upper, and using the old upper plus all the left over parts i have just laying around to assemble a second AR.
i need advice on the following,
rails?? dd vs Larue, and length mid vs carbine
barrels?? length, twist rate
upper recievers??  keep it bushmaster??  or mix and match??
Before I drop that kind of doe i wanna do some research and get some imput.

DD Omega rails allow you to free float without having to remove anything other than the plastic HG. These are user installable...

that would work... however im thinkin i wanna run a midlength rail i would like to be able to have the option to use the rail or the fore grip.... also im sick of seeing that front sight base... i dose co witness with my eotech very nicely, however i would rather have a flip up... witch pretty much means i have to replace the barrel get new gas block im half way there might as well just build i new one.. thats my thought process anyway...
i should have givin more detail in my first post, the old lady was breathin down my neck so i apologize.. with that said, i guess my main questions are barrels and uppers..... anyone have any issues with a stag upper??? (little pissed at bushmaster over the whole acr deal)... and as far as the barrel goes.. A. is it illegal for me (a new yorker) to be assembling an upper with a barrel that at one point will be threaded??? . B if im only useing a eotech.. and set up for cqb would a bull barrels be pointless??? and only add wieght?? .. im leaning towards a 16in heavy barrel 1-9 twist rate, dd omega midlengh, dd low pro gas block, stag upper, troy front and rear flip ups.... any thoughts?? im open to sugestions.....

Not sure what your budget is, but you can't go wrong with a Larue Stealth upper.  I own a 16" mid-length with a 11" rail.  You can get almost any size barrel with whatever length rail you want. They come complete with BCG and charging handle.  Even if you don't see a setup you like, just give them a call they are very willing to work with you.  For a high-end upper, turnaround was less than a week for me.

Larue is a great company, i have order a few things from them, always get extras too.. like there tactical bottle opener :)  There uppers seem pretty soild that is one option im lookin into.. dont like the gap in the rail but thats just a cosmetic issue.... will see i got about 1500 to spend this month and i wanna spend it wisly, balancing parts and ammo if i can grab an upper for a around 7 to 8 hun, leaves me enough for 1000 rounnds or so.... cuzz lets face it, a 1200 dolllar upper with out any ammo is just a really really expensive tatical club...... :) what about bmc complete uppers??  (  BCM Standard 16" M4 Upper Receiver Group w/ Daniel Defense Lite 10" Handguard) sorry still getting used to this dont know how to post a link or a pic yet but i will be sure to post pics when shes all done...

A- i have a 16" barrel that is threaded with a FH that is not pinned and is illegal. I'm also in NY. from what I have been told it is not illegal to have a threaded barrel, it's illegal to have a threaded barrel with a flash hider that is not pinned.

really? i was under the impression that having threaded barrel with or with out a flash supressor (muzzle break) unless permanitly attached would make your rifle into an Assult rifle. NY State Gun Laws.. witch to me is retarded... you can own a semi automatic rifle that can spit out ammo as fast as u can pull the trigger.... but god for bid your barrels has some threads... or the dreaded bayonet lug... even worse yet... the imfamous collaspalbe stock....
