FYI - Received order of new Federal XM193 yesterday from Eric the Ammoman, this is new production M193 and comes in the brown Fed 20 rnd. boxes, headstamped LC 05.

No PD worries, dents or dings in the couple boxes I checked.

While I prefer the Q3131A this appears to be good ammo for stocking or plinking, YMMV.

Get it while it's available....

Mike

ETA - checked Eric's site this am..... seems he sold 600 cases of this stuff in 24 hours, but still has more, word to the wise; "don't wait around"

and oh by the way.... Eric haters just go away and post your drivel in one of the hundred or so "let's bash ammoman threads"

How come you like Q3131 better?  Just wondering, I have about 5000 rounds of Q3131 stored but I have another 15,000 xm-193 just wondering if I should it up and get another 5000 of Q3131 to take it out to a even 10,000?

just TRY and calculate his profit on this.  he's making ALOOOOOT of money.  if you think his prices went up as much as ours did you're VERY VERY wrong.  Nothing against him, just pointing out that WOW he's got a good gig going.

I wounder what lot you have. I have Lot 113 and lot 117. I noticed the Lot 113 to have lots of small dings and what appears to be crimp marks on some of the neck. It looks safe to shoot, just not perfect.

That's an easy question to answer, Q3131A simply shoots tighter groups in my M4s. It also shoots the closest to the 77grn SMK zero on all my rifles, including the long range CR6724.

There's is absolutely no reason to dump good quality XM193 that I am aware off (the PD stuff has seen some complaints here though) especially if your are satisfied with the groups it shoots in your rifle/s.

With the continued shortage of Q3131A out there available for purchase I'm simply boosting my plinking ammo stock with the top choice of most for M193 rounds, while I can.

Yeah... just got my order from Ammoman, 1K of XM193 from Federal.  not sure if it's me... but the more recent prodcution dates from LC are getting uglier, I remember my old XM193 to be prettier

Lot 113/05

Lot 117/05

Wish I stocked up on Portuguese and SA stuff when they were on the market.  Those were some of the best mil-surplus to hit this side of the pond.  Hot and pretty... the way I like them
