Well that's certainly interesting. I mean clearly a lot going on in there (i.e. more to go wrong). However from a geek and functionality point of view it looks pretty damn cool.
edit: saw the post above mine... I would wonder if they wouldn't put some kind of mechanical limit switch in there which prevents the hammer from staying back to allow full auto? That would seem to be the only way to prevent that. |

| 50,000 hour battery life? Does it recharge using the electric current in the human grip? What if the battery starts dying and guns just start randomly shooting people like the democrates say?! Does it add a lb. to your rifle? What if China hacks them and they invade? Is it Eric Holder approved? What if an explosive knocked you back and nearly unconcious and Degan is walking towards you with Lucile but you can't quite grip the rifle with a missing thumb? Can you override the grip safety? Is the grip body heat activated so zombies with an IQ over 50 can't use it? In low light conditions does it put on a multi color LED light show in position "3"? Does the cold reduce battery life and does it generate heat so a slung rifle will keep your junk warm? Will it melt snow into water then heat it up to prepare MRE's? Is it made in China? Until these basic features and a few more concerns are addressed I'll have to hold off on buying. Maybe they can hire Desert Tech to help them get a gen 2 to market on time... Besides, it's not a Magpul MOE+ in FDE. |

Wonder how long before people are flashing the firmware on these things to replace the PR mode with full auto mode. This. Way too easy to do this... Would also be pretty easy to hide...simple push of a button and it's no longer full auto...hmm.... |

Quoted: Seems like a lot of stuff to go wrong. EDIT: Any idea on release date or pricing? I get what you're saying however electro-pneumatic triggers have been used in paintball for decades now. When I used to play tournaments they were EXTREMELY reliable using either a microswitch or infrared beam controlled solenoid. A problem with the trigger or trigger related electronics was very rare, and even though this is quite a bit diffrrent, the idea is the same and I would put money on this being pretty reliable. |

Smart gun tech. Bad. Why? As long as the first 2 positions are totally mechanical then you can always fall back to that if the electronics fail. There seems to be a prevailing myth that mechanical systems are more reliable then electronic. It's actually the complete opposite. One example is cars no longer use points for ignition triggering, they use magnetic or optical sensors and have been since the 1970s. Another example is industrial tank level meters which now use ultrasonic or radar based sensors and not mechanical float sensors Mechanical parts wear out every time there is motion, even if the surfaces are lubricated. The mechanical parts in the trigger group will probably give out long before the electronic components. |

When electric primers came out, ATF opined that they could not be used in self loading rifles. It would seem that they quickly realized that it would be possible to make a machine gun with covert abilities to fire in an automatic mode.
I suspect if they ask the ATF, they'll get a similar answer. |

So, one pull to fire one bullet, or two it seems with some of these triggers. What about pulling it 30 times in an unloaded gun, loading the gun, then activate said pulls with the next one? That's already been shot down by the ATF. Scroll down to question 22: http://imgur.com/a/vt2Qz |

If someone wants to mess with the firmware on this thing, then that's their business. |
