Ok so I got some, what I would consider, upper teir parts together for this one. Not money no option high end. But it's nice for my budget. Went to put the barrel on and my torque wrech was for some reaon, not working, she's a bit long in the tooth and wouldn't click as I reached the required torque setting (too many track days or something who knows). Anyways, Quick run to the store, new wrench and torqued to Odin's spec. My question is related to the vibratite... Since it was on there, and not torqued to spec for a while (run to the store), is that going to affect my tq on the barrel nut? Seems to shoot fine, but I just wanted to see if anyone has any thoughts about it. I have no issue ripping it off and doing it again if I need to.

Odin Works adjustable gas block
Odin Works O2 handguard, 12.5 inch keymod

Elftmann match trigger with elftman pins

Strike eagle in vortex mount.

Also, anyone with one of these barrels have a particular load they like to use? I want to get out to 500-600 and figured some Berger 70vlds would get me there.

Thanks
Ryan

Edit: try as I might, the picture won't come up. such is life

you put vibratite on the barrel nut?!

WHY?

The setup Odin has for their Barrel nut system is... different/weird. They send vibratite with it and advise to use it

Basically there is a handguard adaptor that threads onto the actual receiver. Then you put VC3 on the barrel nut that threads into the Handguard adaptor nut.

It's kinda cool actually. You don't mess around with the normal gas tube recesses in the barren nut. The Handguard adaptor has the gas port in it. So you wrench that down, put a tube alignment tool in, it also comes with one, and then thread on the actual barrel nut and torque to 35 ft/lbs. You don't need to align anything, just slip the alignment tool out and slide the gas block in. You'll need an armorer's wrench that can grab a 1&1/4 nut. Or get a 1&1/4 crows foot. My old wrench didn't want to work properly with it so I had to grab a crow's foot out of the toolbox. Sootch has a video about it on youtube. This is my first non-milspec build. I aeroshelled the receiver threads though, don't worry ;)

Unless you let it set long enough to cure (~24 hrs) you shouldn't have an adverse affect on your final torque values as long as it is to spec.

Cool thanks. Just had me worried a bit in the back of my head. It shoots pretty decent, just wanted to see what others think

Oh ok, didn't know that... Or I skimmed over it in the forum rules. Thanks for letting me know
