I am trying to build a light weight ar platform that perhaps has a future in 3 gun (something I would like to get into). I have built a few ar's before but they were mixing kits versus piecing everything together individually. If I could get some feedback on the build that would be great and suggestions if you think money would be better spent on other parts or something of that effect.
Parts list Rock River lower <- preban and fixed point due to my state laws. Battle comp 1.5 <- Free in a parts bin Voodoo Ultralight barrel 16" 1:7 - $250 Aero Precision upper receiver no forward assist - $105 JP lmos BCG - $350 Syrac low profile adjustable gas block - $100 CAR fiberlite stock and buffer tube assembly $50 Geissele G2S - $175 Noveske keymod (maybe new bcm kmr keymod once it relases) - $250 (optic undecided) Total proximate cost before shipping tax, any lpk needed - $1280 As you can see its a pretty light weight build. I estimate it should be under 7lb easily before optic, perhaps even teetering on 6. EDIT - Fogot to include the rail |

Thanks for the suggestion. the gas block was a weak spot for me. I just knew I needed one with a .625.
Sorry I edited that on after. Looking at a noveske keymod rail system. basically trying to get the lightest modular system without going into things such as carbon fiber. |
| also if any of you guys have any opinions on the jp lmos systems I would really appreciate feedback. Its really hard to find review information on them and if they are worth the investment as you could probably save about $250 by going with a standard bcg but it would cost about 3oz as well to do so. |
