I am scouring the net looking for parts for my first AR build.  I want to build a .308 since I'll be using it predominantly for hunting.  Fulton Armory is 2x as much as Armalite or more than 2x more than RRA for a stripped lower.  Is there quality that much better or am I better off buying an Armalite lower and putting higher quality internals/trigger in it?  Am I missing anyone else that makes a .308 lower?

BTW, I stumbled on this site and have gotten sooo much good info off it.

First off, it's no biggie, but you should have posted this in the AR10/AR180 forum, but that aside I do hope you are aware that 308 caliber ARs are made by Armalite, KAC, DPMS and RRA although there are very few parts that interchange between these 308 caliber mag fed weapons, (heck some of them won't even work w/ common Armalite 20 rnd mags).

IMO "if" you are looking for a quality 308 AR w/ a 20 round box magazine then I'd look no further than the Armalite, (KAC's SR25 is the best but IIRC you'll wait a long time for one of them).

IF accuracy is a priority then get the AR10T, otherwise you need to get over to the proper forum, read the tacked information and be certain your understand all the variants involved here in making this choice.....

Welcome aboard and good luck,

mike
