I finally did it. I bought my dream rifle case, a Pelican 1720 to be exact. Holy crap this thing is a tank and worth every penny I paid for it. Now I need to read up on the how to cut foam tutorial and get busy. The real test will be when I fly with it in a few days.

I know cool story bro and all but I am excited. Its nice to be able to buy what i want these days and not settle for the lower end stuff.

I used a grey marker and laid everything out the way I wanted it. Then I made dots around everything with marker to mark general positions of all the things I wanted in the case. Then I used a pencil and ruler to outline everything and make it look nice, strait and so on. I made first cut with an Exacto blade and the second cut with a longer unserraided sharp kitchen knife so I could make one clean cut through first layer of foam. Note: I made cutouts of everything probably 1/8" larger than actual objects to give them a little room but NOT to much room! Also don't do what I did the first time and cut the rifle out with ALL my accessories attached. I always changed my set-up (like scopes and forward grips) so I make seperate cutouts for all my accessories. Sorry for spelling
