Ok, so after lurking here for a while a new DPMS lower just happened to follow me home from a gun show. here http://lh6.ggpht.com/sburggsx/SFVg56FRjDI/AAAAAAAAAlw/SvLfZBaUidk/s800/IMG_2687-1.JPG I could have purchased the exact pieces assembled, but it seemed crazy to pay another $70 to have someone do the work for me. I'd also be 1000x more afraid to take it apart or modify anything. Now I'm completely comfortable tearing it down at any time. About 45 mins later..... http://lh4.ggpht.com/sburggsx/SFVg2Eg-koI/AAAAAAAAAlo/t4MLSpRHpz0/s800/IMG_2690-1.JPG Now to figure out what to do about an upper....... |

So after several weeks of reading and thinking I finally bit the bullet and got a CMMG upper from AIM Surplus. The fact that AIM is on my path to and from work probably didn't hurt. Yes, the BUIS is UTG junk. Still working on getting to a range to fire it as well. How come I already feel the need to purchase another lower even though I have fired this one yet? http://homepages.uc.edu/~burgsj/IMG_2707-1.JPG |

I'm thinking .22 upper next..... and if you're going to get a spikes .22 upper you may as well go through the hassle and extra $$ and get a matching spikes lower right....... Granted a stainless 20" varmit barrel looks really cool.......but I don't want to spend that much yet. A lower only costs a little over $100 to start..... Ugh, I think I caught it. |
