What does an "F marked" front sight base mean?  I have done a search and can't find an answer.  Let the flaming begin.

its about 1/16 inch taller than the non f marked front sight. Works well with carbine sized weapons.especially if you use 50 meter zero.

Without getting overly complicated (you're a new guy...you'll get better with all of this info)..."F" marked FSB are correct for flattop weapons. It is *slightly* (see post above) taller than an A2 (molded carry handle type) height FSB. Almost any AR type rifle you buy will/should be equipped with an "F" block.
