Hey fellas don't tear me up too bad for asking this, but can shooting with the barrel resting on a cushion damage the barrel or does it only affect accuracy?  I know this is seen as a no-no I just wasn't sure why.  Thanks.

You are fine... Rest away

Edit: I was mobile earlier so thought id update. As others have said it won't hurt your barrel.  It may hurt your cushion and it will impact accuracy. But you already mentioned the latter in your original post.

The barrel gets very hot when shooting. That may bd to much for the cushion. I would not rest the barrel directly on a cushion.

Your barrel will be fine. This is why it's a no-no:

Ok, so it's only a no-no due to the accuracy issues it causes?
