Hello all, I have a newbie question.

I am setting up my eotech 512 on my AR-15 Carbine, and I have a I was wondering... should I zero the sight at 100 meters? 100 yards?

What kind of eye relief works best, mount the eotech close in to my eye or further away from my eye?

Thanks, if anyone can point me in the right direction i would appreciate it a lot!

50 yards works best.  If you zero at 50, your point of impact will be within 2 inches of your point of aim all of the way out to 300 yards, I believe.

I like to set up a red dot sight as far back as possible given your BUIS location.

Easy access to the buttons on the back of the EoTech is essential, as noted above, and assuming the buis is mounted as far back on the rail as possible, the EoTech should be mounted as far fwd as is necessary to give access to it's controls. I have the mdl 552 (one of the long models) and it hangs over the front of the receiver by a couple of inches to provide adequate access to the buttons.  Eye relief isn't the issue with the non-magnifying EoTech that it is with a conventional scope.

I agree with the 50 yd zeroing.
