Well I'm piecing together an SPR and just to save a little $$ for right now I decided to just use a standard mid-length M4 oval handguard(Link here)

Well I ordered in some parts thinking that this stuff should be standard and here's what I have.

The end cap doesn't fit over the two tab looking pieces, and if I try to fit it in between them a gap is created in the handguard. When I just put the metal cap over one of the tabs, it doesn't sit flush on the handguard.

The delta ring section is kind of the same way minus the tabs.  The ring doesn't sit flush and tight on the handguard.

Thirdly what does the snap ring attach to on this thing?

What am I doing wrong or did I buy the wrong parts??

Your delta ring looks like it's upside down in the picture.  The midlength handguards should use a triangle cap, not a round one.

Delta ring IS upside down. Small end forward (handguard) large end aft (receiver). The snap ring goes on the receiver side of the Delta ring assy and holds the spring in place. As far as the front of the handguards, i sure hope there is more than just the 2 little nubs on it. Good luck.
