Narrowing down my search for My AR 10 Scope.  On the bullet drop retical,
it looks like they only have one reticle where I would think there should be a
different retical for .308 vs .223 ?? Like on an ACOG.
This will be my first scoped rifle and my budget tops at 500.00.
This is the scope I keep coming back to.

I have 4 Nikon Monarchs, two 3.3-10x44 Mil Dots on a couple of AR Flat Tops, a 2.5-10x44 Tactical on a Remington M700 VSSF and a 2-7x32 on a FAL.

I clearly have had great results with them.

IIRC, the light transmission is either 95% or 96% which is about all you can actually get through glass.

Good Luck,
Bill
