Im going to be ordering a kit soon and have a couple of questions.

If I get a flat top I assume I will need to get a rear sight?

Is there any advantage to getting a flat top with the carry handle?

Is the carry handle  basically the same as an A2 upper except you can remove it?

So I would still need a rear sight if I take off the carry handle?

Should I get a bipod stud for adding a bipod later?

Whats the differnece between a forged front sight base and the Picatiinny Gas Block?

Thanks.

1.  Yes, flat top needs rear sight. 2.   Advantage....rear sight but, flip-up about the same money. 3.   Yes, A2 carry handle very nearly like A2 upper, just removable. 4.   Yes, you would need sight if you take off the handle. 5.   If you are thinking about putting a bipod on, then why not. Difference between FSB and Railed block.......railed block sight can be removed if it is in the line of sight of your optic (removable front sight usually not included with gas block). You can also install a flip-up front sight on a railed gas block as well.  FSB is fixed, non-removable front sight. Hope that helped.

This is what options bring us, confussion.  If you are not sure why you are getting a flat top then get a detachable carry handle (don't worry I am in that group).  I may not wear the best looking clothes, but that does not mean my weapons need to be seen in public naked.  Try a few things and sell what does not work for you.  In most cases with as popular as this weapon system is you will not lose much (if any) money in this process.

If you are thinking of getting an optic of some sort, I would go flip sight instead of carry handle. flip up or even fixed rear sights give you your flat top rail to mount optics on.
