Alright!

How can I tell if a barrel is chrome lined or not?

I know this is a real newbie question! h.gif

It is a DPMS M4- 16" BBL  1:7 twist 5.56mm. I just bought  from a guy who who bought last year from CMMG.com.  ( I went to the DPMS site and couldn't find any info on it)

He couldn't tell me if it was Chrome lined or not.

I hope this is the info you wanted....I am am a Uber Newbie!!hinking.gif

I didn't know CMMG sold DPMS barrels, I thought they made all their own.

anyways, what's the barrel stamped?

Ok.

I am a real UBER NOOBER here. The only thing I see is the
on the Barrel is 1:7 /5.56 .

Is there some where else that I need to look on barrel?

They did at one time, and they were chrome lined IIRC.

The only way you can test is to remove the flash supressor and use some instant blue on the bore near the muzzle.  Chroming wont take the bluing and the bore will remain shiney.  Non chromed carbone steel barrels will turn blue.

If it is a DPMS Barrel it will say chrome lined on it right in front of the FSB

Being it is a 1/7 and chambered in 5.56  I would give my best guess that it is

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the info! I will check it out when I get home from work tonite!

( Also, I just spoke to the guy who I bought from. CMMG.com had some of other barrrels from other manufacturers for sale at one point.)

loook into the chamber and if it is crome lined, you will see a grayish ring around the opening. Ignore the arrows in the picture (they are for something else).
