| I was just trying some mag releases with a newly installed norgon ambi catch and my magazines will not drop free (pmag and others) when I depress the norgon. However, when I depress the regular mag release button, the magazine practically shoots out of the magwell. I tried adjusting the norgon, but nothing changes. It seems as if the magazine is getting caught up on the norgon. Is this normal? If so, I don't see any benefits to this thing. Thanks for any help. |

Are you trying to eject a full mag? I would submit that it shouldnt matter. It shouldn't, but with a full mag on a closed bolt, the Norgon can require a bit of extra muscle. Lock the bolt back and it'll shoot out no problem. Same with an empty mag. |

You might be correct the Norgon is dragging on your mag, in your description of the problem it seems like that's what's happening. I've got several Norgon on my Colt and LMT carbines and the effort to make the Norgon work is much more than the regular mag release button. With your magazine out of the magwell, look at the inside of the magwell and see if the Norgon mag catch is clearing the inside surface of the magwell, you could also try to back out the catch a little at a time and experiment with it until it works. |

I use the Norgon currently on 3 different builds, all have worked flawless for me with many different mag types. They can be stiffer when using them on a completely full mag crammed against a closed bolt, but that is some what understandable. Out of habit I have always installed them with the threaded stud just slightly recessed from flush on the face of the mag release button. EDIT: Also be sure you didn't get stuck with some of the airsoft replica Norgons. |
