Changed the extractor and ejector springs in the bolt with the David Tubb set. I racked and ejected 5 or so live rounds (same ones each time) a few cycles. There was very noticable scratches on the bullet and casings on all the rounds. Normal??

Did you notice it before? Is it 2 scratches on the extractor side? It's probably a result of a stronger ejector spring. Anyways it's normal.

Yes, I laughed.

Seriously, the scratches probably came from the rounds being stripped out of the mag.

The scratches on the bullet are from the round being pulled backwards across the locking lugs of the barrel extension when you're extracting them. Scratches on the brass could be from the magazine or rubbing on the barrel extension (the round isn't perfectly centered into the chamber until just before lock up and the extractor has the round locked into the bolt itself)

Question for the OP.

Did your extractor spring snap in like it should?
