Cleaning the Beast after the Wisconsin shoot (Check out the pic's in the hometown forum) and noticed alot of carbon build up on the gas tube between the upper rec. and the delta ring and just below the front sight tower is this normal? I just got it back from KKF. I did have to adjust the front sight about 12 clicks down to get back to zero?? This is prob. nothing but just want to make sure.

Yes, all the fouling is normal.

The front of the gas tube is held in place by a roll pin, so you will have some pressure lose there, and the key to gas tube is not compressed fitting, so you will have gases blown back up the outside of the tube and into the delta ring.

Hope this help.

Thanks Dano that answers my question..now for the second part I had Kurt install his A-2 tac brake the rifle was dead on when I sent it down to him but when I got it back it was way off I had to go down about 12 clicks on the front sight is this normal or was my barrel tweaked during this installation proscess?

12 clicks sounds excessive, but anything you do to your muzzle will affect accuracy and point of impact.  The crown has a great impact on accuracy and a change in weight at the muzzle will affect harmonics and POI.

I assume the brake was welded on?  I am guessing here, but maybe the heat put some stress on the barrel and changed the POI.  Is it still accurate?  If so I wouldn't worry about it.

Ditto with Shadowblade.
If you only needed to adjust once, then all is normal.  It's when the accuracy has gone south and the POI is all over the place.  This is a sign of the bullets deflecting off the break or the barrel has muzzle crown damage.

Also, if needed, pull the front sight and spin file it to remove a bit of the tip. This will allow you to have the front post shoulder with the base for the tower.
And if you take your time, you could even spin file the sides to relieve that fence post look/size (post width).  Remember, before you pull the sight out of the drill, check to make sure that the post is true. If not, then every time you change elevations of the front, you will need to change windage on the rear.

Food for thought.
