This is a BCM upper with an Aero forge broken A mark.

Around 2,500-3,000 rounds through it to date. Just wondering if this wear appears abnormal, worried the coating or aluminum may be soft.

Charging handle latch wear.

Dust cover latch wear.

Cam pin wear.

Carrier rail wear.

yes, it's fine

That looks like a whole hell of a lot less than 2500 rounds.

OP, are you buying this from somebody?

Looks normal to me.

what charging handle are you using? the ones with steel latches tend to do that.

OP, if there weren't wear marks then the parts wouldn't actually be touching each other and you'd have much bigger problems.

it originally had a steel latch CH, however I have since moved to a normal LMT T-handle which from what I understand should have a aluminum latch.

It's my personal upper. I know it has at least 2,000 rounds through it, but I'm not sure the exact count so its somewhere between 2,000-3,000 rounds of M193.

Receivers can literally last forever.

Anything that touches another part can and will develop wear patterns.

Thing looks damn near brand new.

Shoot it a lot, drip oil into it, stop cleaning it.  You won't notice those wear marks

Are you serious? Moving metal parts show wear, especially steel on aluminum, 100% normal.

The wear on the CH latch point is far more than my rifle (Daniel Defense) with over 5,000 rounds. The wear on the inside of the upper is par for the course at 2,000-3,000 rounds. The machine-work is a bit pronounced, though.

The charging handle notch on the upper has a abnormal wear, but you are using a steel latch after all, that is the reason I only use aluminum latch on my CH.
The interior of the upper looks fine.

Holy shit, so you guys are telling me that metal on metal contact throughout time will wear down a finish?

Who would have thought.

Inside looks normal, but CH wear looks to be a bit much. I just sold am upper that had 3000+ rds and latch area was not that worn. Not as much as OP. It had a BCM handle the entire time. Sold the upper, but still have the handle.

But it's still considered normal. I'd imagine you played with it a bunch? I chewed up an AR10 CH and by practicing different charging techniques. Bound it up a couple times, scratched the hell out of it. Also has BCM handle.

Don't worry about it unless it's not staying latched.

I played with it a bunch, but I also had a no name charging handle....most likely had a steel latch(no way to know for sure though as it was purchased on another site and the owner didn't even know the brand).

It now has a Colt CH in it...this is why you only buy known brands. Lesson learned.

I would recommend the Badger G3, or BCM.  There is nothing better about a colt ch than any other random milspec ch.

Only reason I went Colt was because I know it has an aluminum latch and I prefer the standard charging handle design.
