Well, PA had a 50% off sale on them and i snagged a 13.5.
I've been wanting a keymod rail recently and switch up from the MLok. I read some reports after ordering they are considered a little dated on the installation/PITA? Or you need to have Noveske's wrench? Also having to drill into the upper receiver? Any truth to this? |

They do need a specific crowsfoot wrench for installation as most wrenches aren't narrow enough to fit in the cutouts of the barrel nut. Not sure of the exact model. I know Noveske sells one, but others are available from different sources (like Amazon).
You'll only need to have the upper drilled if you want the use the "anti-rotation" pin. Noveske calls for a pretty high torque value on the barrel nut, so I really don't think the nut backing off is really that big of a concern, but it is a PITA if you want to use that feature (there is a billet upper out there that comes with the hole pre-drilled, I think it's a VLTOR MUR, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong). I will add, the only one that I've installed was kind of a PITA to get perfectly timed, but it was doable. |

You'll need a crow's foot wrench for it, but since the barrel nut is 2 sided, you may find getting it installed will require flipping it.
Go hand tight first and mark the nearest threaded hole to the gas tube port, and then flip it and see what the other side does. You may have to get to 50-60 lbs to install it but don't worry about the NSR anti-rotation pin getting drilled into the receiver. Proper torque on the barrel nut will be ok to hold that rail steady. |

Mine showed up today. It's got the chainsaw stamp & I could not find the blem to save my life. It isn't moving at all after i got it lined up. I may even have to get a Noveske upper just to matchup with it... and a lower... |
