I recently purchased a N4 16" basic upper group directly from Noveske, and I noticed that the upper's dry film lube seems to not have been applied to the whole inside of the upper. In certain areas, the inside of the upper seems to be the exact same black anodized color as the outside, with a distinct and obvious difference when you can clearly see the dry film lube (like night and day). I am wondering if this is normal. The area that I noticed missing the dry film lube is about 1 cm behind the barrel extension and one side of the upper where the charging handle/cam pin head ride. I tried to take some pictures but my camera isn't working correctly. I will try and get some pictures up ASAP though.

Anyway, is this normal or something that I should worry about?

this isn't a very technical answer,,but,, i wouldn't get too concerned about anything that i knew left noveske's shop.

As good as the dry lube is I think after you lube it wet and shoot it it would be gone fairly quickly anyway.

If the bolt slides free in the upper I would just shoot it and not worry.

Coverage on mine is the same. Lube, shoot and enjoy.

Yeah I called Joel there at Noveske and he said it wasn't a problem. I have the lower for it coming back from the manufactuer this week (it was defective) and I can't wait to shoot it! I picked up an Aimpoint M3 2MOA red dot for it, wow those are SICK!
