Okay, this is my first build and I have a problem. While installing the barrel to the reciever I torqued it down to 35 ft lbs. Now the next detent mark in the barrel nut for the gas tube to go through is about as far away as it could be. Should I keep trying to crank this thing on until I get the right alignment? It seem like something is about to break.....hock.gif

Tighten it, loosen it, tighten it, loosen it.................................repeat as necessary until the next notch is reasonably close, then torque.

What he said.

It pays to take a few minutes working it back and forth instead of just cranking down to the next notch.

Does that mean you have it all fixed and ready to go shooting?
