What makes the tirjicon OEG different from any other red dot?
I love it!!! I know everyone says its old and obsolete, but it WORKS!!! I can say if sh** hits the fan, I can trust my 16inch A2 with the OEG to do its job. A weapon is only good as its master. I have used my AR for coyote hunts. A little story about a hunt where the yote got taken out while running at a distance of 75+ yards. I walked up on a yote hiding at the egde of a cornfield ready to pounce on a rabbit. When I got close to the rabbit, they both took off. I took aim with my OEG on the coyote and fired 2 shots. I got him dead on a run. It needs no batteries, very simple and rugged. Its badass!!!
I had one back in the day. I would much rather have an Aimpoint or similar sight. The OEG is very user specific. Once sighted in you will have both vertical drop and horizontal parallax issues. If you are right handed it will hit left at ranges closer than it was sighted in for and right at greater ranges. Another quirk is that if it it sighted in for a right hander, a left handed shooter will be WAY off target. Even a different right handed shooter will have some side to side issues from the person that it was sighted in for because of eye spacing and how you hold the rifle. If you want to shoot from both shoulders, forget it. An interesting idea, but much better sights are available today. Best. Watch-Six
