I've had mine for a couple years. Its not even the fail zero coated one. I've tried lower velocity wolf, factory m193 and many reloads. I've tried to see if it would cycle "limp wristed" and bump firing, it did. The system seems to have the appropriate force, and ejects brass nicely. I put it in a colt 6920 with H2 buffer. It has maybe 1,500 rounds through it. As for carrier tilt, it just rubbed a little bit on the buffer tube. This was similar wear as my friends LMT piston AR. I like how it could be converted back to DI by only punching out the roll pin on the sight block and putting the gas tube back. I took out the bolt's gas rings but I heard that you don't need to do that, not sure on this particular part. |
| I had one that I sold to my younger brother. It was in my Bushy Carbon Fiber. I wouldn't have hooked him up with it if I didn't trust it. I had carried it for some time as a patrol rifle while on duty. I loved it. I went to a dedicated piston rig, Hogan Guns for my current patrol rifle. If your considering an Osprey Defense Gas Piston System, you won't be disappointed. |
